NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA β MICHAEL BROOKS, a 30-year-old known around the block as βBROOKS,β copped a plea on July 23, 2026. Brooks stood before U.S. District Judge Brandon S. Long and admitted to some serious charges: conspiracy to distribute marijuana and tapentadol, possession with intent to distribute those same drugs, and multiple firearms offenses.
The charges include conspiracy to possess guns in furtherance of his drug game, actually having a gun while trafficking, and being a felon with a firearm. U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle announced the guilty plea, marking another win for the feds against local kingpins.
Brooks is now facing some serious time for his part in this operation. The case sends a message to anyone tryna run a similar hustle: the boys in blue ain't playin' around.
