CHARM AND SNATCH: Trio of Thieves Jailed for Heartless Heists in Manchester

It’s a mad ting when charm turns to crime, bruv. Three women in Manchester worked a wicked con, using flattery and hugs to distract their victims before snatching their jewellery. Geta Schian (33), Geneza Dumitru (35), and Sefora Mazarache (27) were the stars of this twisted show, pulling off one heartless heist after another. On one occasion, they merked a 97-year-old woman waiting for her husband on Dale Street. She was leanin' on her walking aid when they swooped in, kissin' and complimentin' her before snatchin' an antique jade bracelet right off her wrist. The trio's game was strong, but the feds were one step ahead. They were all nicked in January and sentenced at Manchester Crown Court this Monday (July 6). Schian’s doin’ 28 months for attempted theft, Mazarache is lookin' at 38 months for attempted robbery, and Dumitru’s got 28 months for robbery. PC Dombai from the Neighbourhood Crime Team said they take this stuff 'very seriously'. 'We hope this sentence sends a message that robbery will not be tolerated.
