The Whatì RCMP, backed by a multi-agency task force, kicked down a suspected drug den on July 11th. Six individuals were taken into custody without a fuss. Inside the clapped residence, the boys found three ledgers, a residue-covered scale, and 260 grams of a light brown substance believed to be a controlled drug.
The haul was shipped off for testing. Five of the suspects were let go on site; one was held pending results. Inspector James Lai praised the operation, calling it an exemplary police response during a busy weekend in Whatì, where folks from nearby communities gathered for a hand games tournament. The investigation’s still cookin', and the RCMP thanked community members for their support in busting the illicit trade.
