The St. Stephen RCMP just put a serious dent in the local drug scene, eh. Michael Ryan Foster, 43, from St. Stephen, N.B., was slapped with a 9.5-year sentence for his role in two major trafficking busts. The boys kicked down on Foster’s operations in December 2024 and February 2026, seizing stacks of fentanyl worth about $37,000 and methamphetamine worth $6,900. That’s a whole lot of trouble they prevented from hittin' the streets.
Foster appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on July 9, 2026, where he copped to several drug-related charges. He's not just doin' hard time; he also has to hand over his DNA and is banned from firearms for life. The RCMP’s Sgt. Pierre Ladouceur made it clear this sentence sends a strong message: “This shows what dedicated police work can achieve in keeping our communities safe.”
The fentanyl alone is enough to cause major harm, and the mounties are on high alert. “Even small amounts of fentanyl can be fatal,” said Sgt. Ladouceur. The RCMP’s commitment to disrupting drug trafficking continues to make a real difference on the block.
